The ALL New Genie-Lock Vehicle Immobiliser

Introduction to the Genie-Lock Immobiliser

The Genie-Lock Immobiliser Interrupts up to four critical circuits on your vehicle, giving the installer multiple fitment options.  If you are paying someone to install it for you, then they should discuss these options with you before fitting it.

This feature makes it extremely difficult to be bypassed

The Genie-Lock has 12 identical wires which exit its body in a random order.  each wire has an identification label for the installer to identify it. These labels are removed after fitting making it virtually impossible for the wires to be identified and bypassed after it is fitted.

Further to this if you opt to immobilise the door locks  with the Genie-Lock correctly fitted. it would be extremely difficult and time consuming for a thief to get access to the Genie-Lock itself.

The Genie-Lock connects to your mobile phone via a secure Bluetooth connection with a secret code. Up to 5 mobile phones can be paired to the Genie-Lock allowing for multiple users of a vehicle and allowing for back up if you loose or break your phone.

We do not keep a record of these secure codes and do not give them out to anyone. Also we do not retain any information regarding the order of the wires exiting the Genie-Lock.

The Genie-Lock immobiliser can not be blocked with phone signal blocking equipment, and shuts down for 10 minutes if it detects hacking software.

The Genie-Lock Immobiliser connects to your phone using the "Genie-Lock toolbox app" via a secure bluetooth connection.

Your Genie-Lock comes with a 6 digit passcode which is used to pair your phone, once paired you need keep the passcode safe so that you can pair more phones at a later date if required.

For total security you can simply simply close the app and lock your phone. with the app closed your phone will not connect to the Genie-Lock meaning that even if both your keys and your phone are stolen, your vehicle is still safe.

The Genie-Lock Vehicle Immobiliser

Genie-Lock for Keyless Entry

If you own one of these vehicles then you are no doubt aware that they are frequently taken from the owners driveway without the keys.

You probably keep your keys in a metal box or faraday cage and when you are out and about, keep them in a pouch to stop them being scanned.

The whole point of keyless entry is to make life easier. You have paid a lot of money for such convenience just to have an inconvenience of having to protect your key signal.

With the Genie-Lock immobiliser correctly installed you just need to have your key and your phone with you and you can use your vehicle in the way it was intended. Giving you total security without inconvenience.

The thieves can still scan your keys but without having your phone they wont be able to unlock your vehicle and even if they do get into it they wont be able to start it or even tow it away.

Genie-Lock for camper vans.

The high value of second hand camper vans makes them an attractive target for thieves. when you are enjoying a relaxing break, your thoughts are not always on security, you don't always think about where your keys are and there is always the problem of where do you hide them when you are in the sea or pool. would you even notice if someone is watching you to see where you keep them. These vehicles are frequently stolen to order because they can easily be given a new identity by putting the body onto a new chassis.

Genie-Lock for vehicles with remote unlocking

These cars will generally have an immobiliser built into the key,  which is why they are usually taken by stealing the key first, either by using a fishing rod through your letterbox,  breaking into your house or sneaking in through your front door while you are relaxing in the garden.

With the Genie-Lock immobiliser correctly installed on your vehicle even with your keys, no one will be able to take your vehicle away. With up to four electronic systems being immobilised the Genie-Lock could be fitted to multiple systems such as, an electronic handbrake, electronic steering lock,  fuel pump, engine ECU, crankshaft sensor, central locking  Electronic gearbox control etc.

Exactly which systems it is fitted to is entirely up to the installer, making it almost impossible for anyone to bypass,  as each vehicle will be connected in a different way.

But as the vehicle owner, all you need to do is have your phone with you and you can use your vehicle as normal. Just fit the Genie-Lock and relax.

Genie-Lock for Classic Vehicles

You are no doubt aware that your vehicle has very little built in security.

you probably keep it in a locked garage, have a tracker installed, fit a steering wheel lock, Pedal lock and might even already have an aftermarket immobiliser which cuts the ignition or fuel pump. But sadly these vehicles are still stolen, usually in a well planned operation where they are shipped abroad before the owner even knows it has gone.

The Genie-Lock imobiliser offers many advantages. Unlike a tracker, it can not be blocked using a phone signal blocking device and  unlike other after market immobilisers which often use a keyfob system (useless if the thief has taken your keys)  it interrupts a number of circuits such as fuel pump,  ignition, starter motor,  or an aftermarket fuel cutoff solenoid. making it very difficult to bypass.

Where the Genie-Lock really makes a difference though is with the opportunist theft. Many owners of older vehicles  have just nipped into a shop and came out to see their vehicle  being driven away. They had not fitted the steering wheel lock as "they were only going to be a couple of minutes".

With a Genie-Lock fitted. you have that piece of mind, knowing that your vehicle is still safe even when you are  paying for your fuel or picking up your groceries from the corner shop.

Genie-Lock frequently asked questions

  • If my phone battery goes flat while driving does my engine cut out

No, once the Genie-Lock detects an "ignition on" signal it stays live until 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off. So even if your phone has died, you can re start your engine and continue your journey even if you stall your vehicle.

  • What stops somone else downloading the app and connecting their device to steal my car

Your Genie-Lock comes with a secret passcode. You need to keep this code safe, you will need it if you want to connect more phones or if you change your phone. Do not give this code out to anyone else.

  • How many phones can be connected to my Genie-Lock

You can add up to 5 phones to your Genie-Lock Immobiliser. we recomend pairing your partners or at least one other trusted persons phone so that you can still start your vehilce if you loose or break your  own phone

  • What happens when my car goes in for servicing, do I need to leave a phone with the garage?

The installer will fit a remote button in an out of sight place in your vehicle. With a phone connected. press and hold this button for 5 seconds. this will put your Genie-Lock into service mode effectively bypassing the Genie-Lock untill the next time your phone is connected. when it will automaticly revert back to security mode

  • How close does my phone need to be to connect to my Genie-Lock

This depends very much on your phone, your vehicle and where in your vehicle the Genie-Lock is fitted. But in most cases you need to be around 3 meters from the vehice.

  • What if someone steals my keys and my phone can I stop my car being stolen?

Your phone will only connect if you have the Genie-Lock app open on your phone. we recomend, closing the app and locking your phone overnight  or at any time your phone is at risk of being stolen for total protection.

  • Does it work with all mobile phones

We have tested the Genie-Lock with most smart phones that are available on the market. We recomend the i Phone as this has the more user freindly app and is the easiest to pair. We have found that some Samsung phones need to be unpaired and re-paired every 500 conctions. The app displays the number of times that the Genie-Lock has connected, so you know in advance that you need to unpair and re-pair your phone.

  • How do I get in and start my car if I loose my phone or the battery goes flat while I am out

If your phone has gone flat then you will need to unlock your vehicle manualy with the key and plug your phone into a live USB socket to put some charge in it before you drive away. We recomend that you check that you have an acceesable USB socket that stays live when the ignition is off. If you dont have one then we recomend that you install one when you install your Genie-Lock.

If you have lost or broken your Phone then you will need to borrow a phone from a freind colleague or relative, download the app to their phone and pair it using the secret passcode. This will enable you to  get into your vehicle and drive away. Putting it into service mode while their phone is connected will bypass the immobiliser untill you can connect another phone.

  • I have paired another persons phone to my Genie-Lock, but dont want them to be able to use my car

Without a phone connected, Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds. this will delete all paired phones from the Genie-Lock. Make sure that  you have your passkey before doing this as all phones that you want to use will now have to be re-paired.

  • I need my phone to connect to my car for Sat Nav and music can it connect to the Genie-Lock at the same time

Most Bluetooth phones can connect to multiple devices of different types at the same time. However your phone only needs to be connected to the Genie-lock  untill the ignition is turned on. the other devices on the car will not become live untill after the ignition is on. So in the worst case you might need to close the Genie-Lock app once you have started the engine to allow the other deices to connect, but this is very much vehicle and phone dependant and is unlikely to be necessary for the majority of users

  • Do I need to pay a monthly charge for the Genie-Lock to keep working

There is no monthly fee to pay, unlike some other devices on the market once your Genie-Lock is installed that is it.

  • Can the Genie-Lock be dissabled with radio signal jamming equipment

Unlike some other devices on the market. Jamming the radio signal can only make it harder for the somone to steal your vehicle not easier.

  • How easy is it to fit? Can I fit it myself?

The Genie-Lock needs to be fitted by a competant Mechanic or vehicle electrician.

For older classic vehicles most people will be able to connect it if they have access to the vehicles wiring diagram and have a basic knowledge of vehicle electrics.

On later CAN bus vehicles and keyless entry vehicles we recomend using a profesional aftermarket accessory installer

How does the Genie-lock compare to other devices on the market

Some cheaper devices require you to carry a key fob, which you would normally keep with your keys, these are ineffective if your vehicle is stolen with the keys, which is currently the most common type of vehicle theft.

Nearly all other Immobilisers only disable one or sometimes two circuits on the car making them relatively easy to bypass.

Some other Bluetooth immobilisers only work with an I phone or require you to press a series of buttons in the car to turn them off, these generally also require a monthly subscription fee. and are more costly to purchase than the Genie-Lock

Aimed at the classic vehicle market, vehicle trackers are available that allow the owner to follow their stolen vehicle with an app and cut the engine at a point of their choice. These can easily be by passed as they only cut one circuit and are susceptible to mobile phone signal blocking devices, which anyone can buy on the internet for under £100. Also they don't prevent your vehicle being stolen in the first place meaning that by the time you get to it you might just find a burnt out wreck in a field.
